The Monster Cereals that General Mills created in 1971 (beginning with Count Chocula & Frankenberry) seemed to be created just for me! I was 10 years old and LOVED monsters and monster movies (as well as monsters in cartoons & marshmallows). When they created blueberry flavored Booberry in ’72 and fruit flavored Fruit Brute in ’74, these four monster cereals were staples of my breakfasts.

Because Fruit Brute was discontinued in 1982 and it’s replacement, Yummy Mummy was discontinued in 1992 those two cereals and cereal mascots may be easily forgotten. But not by me.

In my universe, all 5 Monster Cereals would be available all year round and still have the 1970’s taste!
