One of the worst things about going to those VERY long masses when I was a kid was that often, we’d have to attend an earlier mass. Getting up early to go to church on a Sunday (when you’d LOVE to sleep in) was bad enough, but those early masses were in Slovak. A language my dad obviously knew, since he was born in Czechoslovakia, but we kids didn’t. So we’re wearing our church clothes, sitting in a church on an early Sunday morning, for a mass that often runs a little over an hour in a language I didn’t understand at all.

All that being said had I been able to get inside today it would have been interesting to experience this again.
