This is 100% true. I had just stepped off that electric powered mat, that causes the doors to open and close, when the lightning struck and the power went out. Now, I’m not saying those inside were trapped, cause I’m guessing these doors can be opened manually, but no one would be able to buy/pay for their groceries. Wouldn’t be surprised if many were in the middle of large purchases that would have to be started all over again, once the power returned.

I’m just glad I avoided all that hassle.
