I normally don’t remember my dreams, or if I do, I forget them rather quickly after I wake up. But because this dream caused me to fall out of my bed I quickly scribbled it down before resuming my sleep.

As I was coming up for the idea how to depict this comic I immediately thought of the amazing, influential comic strip from the early 20th Century,  “Little Nemo in Slumberland” by Winsor McCay. Each strip would depict the little boy Nemo in some wondrous land having an unusual adventure only to abruptly wake up in the last panel.

So as an homage to him, it made perfect sense to do something similar with today’s comic.
