Daily Comic Journal: March 18, 2018: “Open Sesames.”
Yeah, I wasn’t particularly wowed by any of these houses. And though I’m originally from this area, I never realized so many homes around here have such steep, therefore, useless backyards.
For those of you not from the Pittsburgh area, you probably don’t know who Myron Cope was (he passed away in 2008).
He was first, a very good, well known local sports writer, then, because of his knowledge of football, became the color analyst on the Pittsburgh Steelers radio broadcasts starting in the 1970’s, which if you know anything about the NFL, was a great decade for the Steelers.
He was known for his unique voice and colorful verbiage. Beginning in the 70’s, along with his broadcast analyst and sports writing, he also hosted a sports radio talk show. This was almost unheard of in those days, since sports radio was a long way away from being the staple that it’s become.
Perhaps though, Myron is most known for his creation of “The Terrible Towel”, which has become synonymous with the Steelers and Steeler fans.
I have no idea, in this practically empty house, why that autographed photo was just sitting on the little table. Did they think it would sway someone to buy the house?
