When I looked at my notes for what happened on this day, I basically just wrote “Eating Caesar Salad on the Ides of March.” It wasn’t until I started drawing up the thumbnail that I got the idea of depicting Caesar getting assassinated for the punchline. Sometimes it’s best to go into drawing these comics with no preconceived idea of what I want to draw. You never know what might pop into your head.
