There were so many red flags pertaining to this job. The atmosphere, the almost minimum wage pay, the lack of health insurance and that “No PTO for the first year”???!!!! I couldn’t believe that. Didn’t anyone learn anything from the pandemic? People need a life outside of their job. He told me the reason there’s no PTO until you’ve worked there a year is because once, years ago, he hired someone and after working one week that person went on vacation. So, because of that one incident (which as the owner and boss he could have not accepted this employee from taking time off so quickly), he solves it by not offering ANY PTO until after a year. Yeah. I don’t think so.

I may come across as some picky person, to reject a job, no matter how bad it may seem, after being out of work for 19 months, but I can’t do it. I can’t just take a job just to have a job.

At least, not yet.
