Daily Comic Journal: July 13, 2017: “Invasion Of The Inarticulate Pod People.”
I’ve tried and tried and tried. But today was the tipping point.
My sister texted me about a podcast she thought sounded like something I’d want to hear, where one of the hosts would defend a movie they like against the other host who doesn’t like it. At least that’s what I think it was about. I couldn’t get past the first 12 minutes, of which the first 10 minutes were just the two hosts talking about what they did that weekend (which I could care less to hear). What finally drove me to turn it off was the female host of the two, who would use the word “like” EVERY three words!! These were two people who were, IMO, not qualified to speak in public and it was VERY apparent with each sentence they’d say.
Oh, and don’t even try to listen to the podcasts on Rotten Tomatoes. Wow, those are really, really bad.
Maybe sometime in the future I’ll attempt to listen to a pod cast again, but for now, I can live without them.
As a fan of quite a few podcasts, I agree completely. Even the ones I like are too long, padded with chitchat, and pay too little regard to broadcast fundamentals. It shows no respect for the listener’s time and attention.
Thanks, glad to hear that I’m not the only one. I posted this comic on Facebook and got a lot of flack for what I said. It’s as if by dissing podcasts I’d crossed the line!
