Daily Comic Journal: January 8, 2020: “Ruminating Over a Recent Resignation.”
The reason why I believe the main reason that Jim quit was his commute. In the short time we worked together and spoke, he almost always brought up his commute. I think he lives south/east from our Bridgeville offices so his commute couldn’t be much worse than mine (I live north/east from our offices). You just bite the bullet and do the best you can. You make it work. Besides, once he got going, learned Desigo and our work procedures, he could start occasionally working from home. Like I was doing today.
Oh well…
He might have gotten another job offer that was more to his liking. I saw this once several decades ago when a former co-worker returned to his old job (and boss). At that time, he lived over 2 hours away, having gotten married and relocated to another company, which then had a layoff; he’d been out of work for a couple months. He was looking for an apartment to stay in during the week. During that first week of work, he got an offer for a job much closer to where he lived… and then he was gone after one week.
