Daily Comic Journal: January 8, 2018: “They Know What You’re Doing – Somehow.”
Maybe it’s because the last time I made a major move, moving into my Audubon, PA house in 2001, there was more you had to do to alert to others that you were moving. Getting so much accomplished, without making phone calls or contacting anyone in person, but doing so on the internet, wasn’t the norm 17 years ago. I was all prepared to contact everyone next week, after the house officially changes hands, but it looks as if I won’t have to bother. I guess I should be glad, less to concern myself with, but still…
It’s a bit creepy knowing that this is all going on behind my back.
It’s most likely the new homeowners who are contacting the utilities prior to the actual day your house is sold. They want to make sure all the utilities are functional on the day they move in. Most homeowners set-up cancellations prior to selling so they are only charged for usage up to the day of the sale and no later.
