Daily Comic Journal: January 12, 2022: “A Little Jab Will Do You.”
Okay, I should probably explain that “Shingles inued” at the end of the comic.
Back in the 1960’s the Incredible Hulk, after just 6 issues of his own book was canceled, shared the comic “Tales To Astonish” first with Giant Man then with the Sub Mariner. Because “Tales To Astonish” featured two different stories, for two different characters, the page count for each was between 10-12 pages (unlike characters who had their own title, where their stories would run at least 20 pages). Shorter page counts would lead to more continued stories, so many of The Hulk’s stories were two or more parts. Now, for some reason, rather than saying “To Be Continued” at the end of stories, like they could do with other titles for Hulk stories they’d say:
I don’t know why they did that, but it would always make me laugh when I’d see it and it’s stuck in the back of my mind all these years later.
