My mom only collects social security and a couple of pensions (my dad’s pensions from US Steel and the Army Reserves) so she never needs to pay federal taxes,  which is why her not filing last year was no big deal. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of men and women of her age and circumstances also didn’t file last year, because of the height of the pandemic. I’m glad I wa able to help her get them done this year.
