Yes, I’ve been living in this house for nearly two years and despite all the time I’ve spent down here in my Family Room (and Studio) I never used this fireplace. I think one reason is that when I had that first chimney sweep come out here in 2018 to check it out and he gave me a “horror story” diagnosis of this particular fireplace I was freaked out and avoided it. But since that different chimney sweep came out, checked it and said those dire predictions of it were wrong, well, I guess I was just waiting for the perfect opportunity to try it. And today was that opportunity.
