By the time I was gone from Hallmark Cards (early 2000) they’d also had begun making the talking/singing cards, but I never worked on one. I’m not sure how much more complicated the laying out and designing the card would have been, knowing that you’d have a motion activated sound chip to contend with on the final printed piece. I’m guessing it’s not that big a deal to create the card knowing you’ll have to add it. But I’ll never know for sure.
