Daily Comic Journal: August 6, 2022: “Running On Empty?”
I say I use propane naturally not because I have any bias against charcoal. Charcoal grilled food tastes great (and smells awesome too), but because it takes such a long time to heat up, if you’re only making enough food for just one person it doesn’t make sense to go the charcoal route.
As for the tanks, even if you pick up the tank, to try and tell, by the weight how much gas is left, there’s no sure fire way to know just how much is left. And the only thing worse then going out to the grill with your cold hot dogs and burgers only to have no gas left to grill with, is to have people over for a cookout only to find your tank tapped out.
I agree there’s nothing worse – that’s why you need a spare full tank. Swap it in when you run out of gas and get the old one refilled in a couple days. Also, those ignition buttons often are unreliable; always check with a grill lighter just to verify you’re really out of gas.
