In the last few years my dad was alive he used to say things (at Christmas) like; “This may be the last Christmas I’ll be here with everyone.” and now my mom, at age 93, will occasionally make comments about her death.

Rationally I understand why they say things like that. But as their child, I just do t want to hear it.
