Prior to getting contacted by and interviewing with Plow & Hearth, I’d really never given any thought to the city of Charlottesville. Like most people, I’m sure, if I was aware of the town it’d probably be because of the college there or because of nearby Monticello.

When I was working for them last December, I’d periodically go on line, learning more about the area and checking for places I’d might like to live there. In my mind, I thought for sure that by the spring of 2017 I’d be living there.

Alas, the company had a bad 2016 and new employees, like myself, were let go.

So, as I watched the events of today, even though my opportunity to be working and living there was long gone, a little part of me felt as if I was there.
