At first glance, the fact that I was contacted and spoke with two recruiters (in one day) about two job opportunities may sound great. But………. in the 2+ years that I’ve been out of work (to be truthful, I’ve had a few freelance and contract jobs, but for the most part, I’ve been out of work) I’ve had these conversations about job positions with recruiters time and time again.

At first, you’re excited that someone (albeit a recruiter) has shown interest in you. Then you start thinking about the job, the company, the location and the excitement of working again. Then…..

Nothing. You hear nothing.

I hope I’m not coming off too cynical here, but I’ve been down this road too many times.

And I really just want to work again.

It’s what I do. It’s who I am. I just wish someone would let me.
